Dan D'AngeloClub Director | CoachDan has enjoyed watching and helping out with water polo with his two sons, Clayton and Nico, for the last 10 years. He truly has fallen in love with the game and now is playing Masters Water Polo, coaching the JV Vintage High school team and starting Vine Water Polo to help promote the game of water polo to the community of Napa.

Mackenzie AndersonBoard Member | CoachMackenzie grew up swimming and playing waterpolo in the Napa Valley. She has coached local waterpolo for over 20 years including time at Napa, Vintage and American Canyon High Schools, as well as for local clubs. She is currently the Head Boys Waterpolo Coach at Vintage High School. Mackenzie holds a B.A. from UC Santa Barbara and and M.B.A. from the University of Nevada, Reno. Many of her former athletes are current high-level players and coaches, which is one of her proudest accomplishments. There is nothing Mackenzie loves to do more than share her love of this sport!

Emily HarrymanBoard Member | CoachEmily has been involved in water polo for over 20 years. She is passionate about the sport and excited to bring Splashball to Napa as a way to introduce the sport she loves to young kids. Emily played three years of water polo at Redlands High School as a member of their first girls waterpolo team. She then played for Santa Clara University while receiving her BS in Political Science.Emily became a high school history teacher and coached varsity swimming for 5 years. She is currently coaching at Vintage High School.

Tom CoughlanCoachTom has experience in water polo coaching and playing across NCAA, CIF-NCS, age group, and international levels. He began coaching as an assistant for UC Santa Barbara’s men’s and women’s teams (2003-04) and later served as head men’s coach at Saint Mary’s College (CA) (2006-07). In the CIF-NCS, Tom coached Justin-Siena High School’s boys’ and girls’ teams from 2007 to 2010 and returned to the role in the fall of 2024. His prior roles include assistant coaching at De La Salle High School (2006) and Monte Vista High School (2002). Tom has also coached with Napa Valley, Diablo, Santa Barbara, and Albuquerque (NM) Water Polo Clubs, as well as Santa Barbara Masters and Ireland’s U19 girls at Half Moon WPC in Dublin.
As a player, Tom was a Junior Olympics All-American with Diablo Valley and captained the De La Salle High School team, earning League MVP, two All-NCS selections, and All-American honors, later joining the school’s Hall of Fame. At UC Santa Barbara, he served as captain, was a two-time All-Conference player, and earned All-American status. Internationally, Tom represented the USA National “B” Team, played professionally with S.N. Strasbourg in France, and competed with the Ireland National Team and Half Moon WPC in Dublin. Tom is also excited to support and grow water polo in Napa Valley and surrounding areas with Vine Water Polo Club, expanding opportunities for young athletes in the sport. |
Sarah TinloyCoachSarah is a Vintage HS alumni; where she was varsity all four years in both swimming and water polo and named senior athlete of the year. After high school she continued her water polo career at CSU Monterey Bay. While in Monterey she coached for the Legacy Youth Water Polo Club and was the first head coach for CSUMB's club water polo team. She has been a part of the local club water polo and swim teams for the past seventeen years. Including coaching various 14u, 16u and 18u Junior Olympic girls and boys teams throughout the years. And was a coach for the Women's USA Water Polo Olympic Development Program in 2011-2013.
She has been the head Vintage HS girls water polo coach since 2011, where multiple championships have been won. She has assisted with the swim and dive program since 2011, but was also head coach from 2019-2024. She was a teacher for eight years prior to having kids, now she enjoys doing different aquatics jobs throughout Napa Valley. One of her favorite past times is to share her love for water polo with our community. |
Kyle MageeCoachA Napa local who has been playing waterpolo for over 10 years, Kyle played for Vintage High School and was most recently the President of the University of Oregon's Club Waterpolo squad. He also brings with him almost 20 years of competitive swim experience. Kyle loves the intensity and pace of the game and looks forward to sharing that passion with the next generation of athletes.

Michael MontoroCoachMikey just finished his freshman year playing for D1 San Jose State University. The Spartans ended a historic season as WCC Champs. A native of San Diego with roots in the Napa Valley, his high school career consisted of numerous accolades including a CIF Championship, scoring records, and Team MVP awards. Mikey brings deep technical knowledge and love of the game to the pool deck.

Phillip FiceleCoachPhillip has swam since he was 7 but only started his water polo career in high school. Despite being introduced to the sport later on he developed a deep passion for the sport and continued to play for club and pickup in College. After graduating from California State University Long Beach for Aerospace Engineering and returning to Napa, he has a strong desire to help the younger generation of athletes fall in love with the sport the same way he did.
